Micronized vs flake PE wax: which to choose
When to use micronized or flake polyethylene wax in extrusion and compounds: dosing, flow, logistics and finish.
Same family, different forms
Both PE waxes act on external lubrication and melt flow. The practical difference is particle size and addition logistics — not which one is absolutely “better”.
When to prefer micronized
Micronized grades favor fast dispersion, masterbatch and lines that dose fine powder consistently. It is the typical choice when the goal is lower torque and better gloss with controlled particle size.
When to prefer flake
Flake fits better when the silo, feeder or plant safety setup does not handle fine powder well. It keeps external lubrication and throughput, with more robust industrial dosing in some plant layouts.
