Calcium carbonate in compounds: cost vs processability
When mineral filler cuts cost without killing flow: grade, dosage, coupling and trials in PVC, compounds and masterbatch.
Filler is not only “cheaper”
Raising carbonate without grade, surface and matrix-filler interface usually returns high torque, impact loss and scrap. Cost gains only hold when processability follows.
Quick diagnosis
Separate formulation symptoms (modulus, elongation, impact) from process symptoms (torque, fusion, surface). In PVC and compounds, coupling and lubrication belong in the same diagnosis.
